The Dream Team of Environmental Advocates & Fisheries Scientists

Chris Smyth while working at the Australian Conservation Foundation as its Healthy Oceans Campaigner teamed up with eminent marine scientist, Trevor Ward. Together they gathered leading marine scientists from across Australia to co-found a new benchmark in seafood sustainability assessments. The Sustainable Australian Seafood Assessment Criteria (SASAC) is regarded by many as the industry best practice and gold standard.

To support the application of the Criteria, the scientists recently established the not-for-profit company, Sustainable Australian Seafood Assessment Limited (SASAL).
